Professor Christian Dittrich is head of the 3rd Medical Department of Oncology at the Kaiser Franz Josef-Spital in Vienna and Director of the Ludwig Boltzmann-Institute for Applied Cancer Research.

He is a specialist in Oncology, Haematology as well as internal medicine. His main fields of interest are new drug development, translational research and chemoprevention as well as treatment of all solid tumour entities.

He belongs to several groups of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), among them the EORTC New Drug Development Program (NDDP), the Protocol Review Committee (PRC) and the CRC/EORTC-Review Committee on European NCI-Compounds.

He was chairman of the Fellowship and Award Committee of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). He is founding member and president of the CESAR Central European Society of Anticancer Drug Research-EWIV as well as the Applied Cancer Research-Institute for Translational Research Vienna.
