ecancermedia
ecancermedia has been created to ensure that journalists are provided with free, accurate oncology news and information.
We feature interesting and newsworthy stories from trusted journals and Institutions. We are also a press office for cancer and provide journalists with any oncology information that they need to write an article. Journalists can help to play a vital role informing the public about latest cancer treatments, lifestyle advice and developments in research.
Scientific Advice
Professor Gordon McVie is the Scientific Advisor to the media centre. He was the Chief Executive of The Cancer Research Campaign and joint Chief Executive of the new charity Cancer Research UK. He is currently the senior consultant at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan and is Chief Executive of Cancer Intelligence, a company he has set up to improve cancer communication. He has vast experience in dealing with the media and has regularly appeared on National and International television as well as providing comment for many newspaper articles.

Star ratings (image of stars)
We recognise that it is often hard to evaluate the importance of new research that is making the headlines. That is why we have introduced our star rating system. A story will be awarded a star from 1-5 depending on the quality of the research. The more stars, the more ground breaking the story is.
Expert comment
We have a database of experts across Europe to provide comment on the latest breaking cancer news. They are also available to help with features and more in depth articles.
Patient stories
We will try and source relevant patient case studies so that people who have been affected by cancer can tell their story.
Images
We are developing a database of images for journalists to use and download free of charge.
